I. Secret codes
were created to lead the way to hidden mines and treasure sites.
II. Secret codes were established for safely reopening hidden
mines or mines temporarily closed during the severest months in
the deserts and mountains. To guard these mines from unauthorized
entry, unique death traps were set up to destroy those that did
not know the procedure for safely entering them.
III. In 1759 (69), King Carlos 111 of Spain, ordered that all Jesuits be imprisoned or expelled from Spains possessions. The Jesuit Order having prior knowledge of the kings orders, set up warning signal fires on the highest mountain tops to warn of approaching soldiers. As soon as the first warning signal fire was lit, the warning fires continued, one by one, to the north, south, east, and west for hundreds of miles in all directions.
IV. The Jesuit
Order, who had been covertly operating gold or silver mines in
Mexico and the Southwest for nearly a century, were now forced
to live undiscovered while continuing their mining activities
in complete secrecy. Some Jesuit Padres are believed to have went
into hiding as far away as Canada.
